Interactive Q&A-Style Digital Guide

The world of craft chocolate can be intimidating and difficult for newcomers to navigate. Packaging and marketing often rely on terms like “bean-to-bar,” “single-origin,” and percentage labels that assume prior knowledge.

While the information is out there, it’s scattered across forums, maker websites, and enthusiast content that can be time-consuming to wade through. This makes it difficult for someone new to quickly understand what they’re looking at and make an informed purchase.

I structured the guide as a series of plain-language answers to the questions a newcomer is most likely to have: what do these terms mean, why does it cost so much, where does the flavor come from, and what should I buy first. Each answer is written to be complete on its own, so readers can hop in at whatever point is most relevant to them.

To make the content more actionable, I included an interactive origin guide that allows users to explore the flavor profiles assoicate with different regions, choose one that they’re drawn to, and navigate directly to recommended bars that have those characteristics.

I built the guide using HTML and CSS, and created custom visuals and typography to support clarity, hierarchy, and ease of navigation.

The result is a concise, accessible guide that helps newcomers understand craft chocolate and makes it easy to get started on their own journey feeling confident about their first purchase.
